Our President, Saugat, came up with the idea of this exclusive marketplace during his first year in the dorms in 2018 after realizing the need for a more secure and convenient marketplace. In 2019, he approached our Vice -President, Joachim, who was working as a Resident Assistant with university housing. Joachim, working with housing students, also realized the need, convenience, and importance of Broke Bazaar for the students and the ISU community and decided to join the team. They took Professor Jeff Street's Entrepreneurship class to develop the idea further and competed in Pitch-off competitions to raise funds. They placed 3rd in the US bank competition and were runner up in the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge in 2020. The original launch date was planned for 2020, but due to COVID and other complications, the launch had to be delayed. Our journey to get here has been long, but it has been a wonderful one for sure!
